Director of Community Affairs Reports to Vice President of Residential Operations Primary Responsibilities Protect the legal financial and moral wellbeing of the LHMRE and the portfolio companies.

Primary Duties The Director of Community Affairs is responsible for the creation and oversight of Community Associations or HOAs within Larry H.
Miller Real Estates LHM portfolio of Communities.
They will represent the interests of LHM as the developer and declarant of each community to help deliver long term value for LHM community residents and other stakeholders.
Additionally they will work with various government entities and nonprofits to address a variety of issues related to development land use public policy and other areas where strong relationships with the public sector are a key component to LHMs overall strategy.
Works closely with contract management companies daily to develop policy manage budgets resolve issues and improve the resident experience of living in an LHM Community Serves as a declarant representative on various boards to ensure that the developers interests are balanced with the needs of the community Collaborates with other members of the development team on forward community planning to anticipate needs and plan for future amenities programming and other services that help the developer achieve its goals related to sales branding and ROI Interfaces with city and county governments school boards and similar groups to build partnerships and lobby support for LHM interests.
Organize and oversee community meetings open houses and town halls where necessary to engage the community and general public on matters that are critical to LHMs business objectives or public mission Assist andor lead other team members on special projects as needed Job Qualifications Bachelors degree in project or construction management preferred years relevant work experience in project or construction management strongly preferred.
Strong organizational time management and communication skills verbal and written High caliber written correspondence document checking and report preparation Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize the process appropriately Maintain independent awareness of deadlines and prioritize tasks to meet those deadlines Proficient in MS Excel MS Word Ability to interact with internal clients coworkers and vendors in a professional manner Takes ownership of task Willingness to conform to company policies and be involved in appropriate training Detail oriented.

Physical Requirements This position requires frequent walking standing and climbing stairs inaround construction site apartment homes models and properties.
This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions to include but limited to rain snow heat hail wind and sleet around hazardous chemicals dust dirt and other particulates.
Must have the ability to read and comprehend large quantities of information operate computer equipment speak hear bend stoop reach lift move and carry up to lbs.
