Accounting Assistant Reports to Controller Primary Responsibilities Protect the legal financial and moral wellbeing of the LHMRE and the portfolio companies.
Be a teacher to support the efforts of other employees to be successful.
Seek ways to improve business operations efficiencies.
Primary Duties Data entry of accounts payable invoices and credit card transactions Collect and maintain Ws for vendors Process weekly check runs File sales and personal property tax returns as needed Ensure property taxes are paid and billed as required.
Assist the Controller in making sure that the accounting systems and subledgers are accurate and maintained.
Assist with the oversight of the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions Assist with billing as needed Assist with the coordination and facilitation of all external audits Seek ways to improve business operation efficiencies Special projects as assigned Job Qualifications Minimum Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance bachelors degree preferred and threefive years of experience in an accounting Experience in financial reporting regulations accounting systems and software applications Excel Word Outlook Typing and Ten Key To perform the job successfully an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.
