Job Description
Seeking a strategic Purchasing Manager to plan and procure materials needed to support quality national and international R&D, manufacturing, and distribution operations.
Responsibilities
Manage materials inventory process, coordinating the planning and procurement of materials, equipment, tools, and supplies by creating and maintaining Bill of Materials (BOM), inner-branch-transfer (IBT) product requests, monthly work orders, and more to drive Materials Requirement Planning (MRP).
Manage end of life components with contract manufactures and source alternate supplies in conjunction with engineering approvals
Negotiate with vendors to obtain product or service information, and optimal product pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
Prepare purchase orders or bid requests. Monitor the fair market price of all raw materials and negotiate stocking agreement contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
Partner with V.P. of Operations and Production Manager to ensure adequate inventory and non-inventory supplies.
Partner with Research & Development department in new product development.
Partner with Quality Control department to determine proper corrective actions to defective or unacceptable goods or services.
Partner with Quality Control and IT department to improve and develop processes and procedures.
Partner with Accounts Payable department to ensure documentation three-way matching is timely and accurate.
Participate in QST (Quality Support Team) for all new products and existing products, and MRB (Material Review Board).
Conduct annual physical inventory, and additional cycle counts as necessary to ensure accurate system inventory counts
Perform additional related duties as needed.
Qualifications
High level of written and oral communication skills
Ability to build and maintain rapport with all company departments and vendors
Strong problem-solving, strategic-thinking, and critical-analysis ability in resolving purchasing, inventory, and accounting issues
Bachelor s degree in business, finance, or related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience
3-5 years of purchasing and/or inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Previous management experience preferred
Proficiency in CRM software and spreadsheet preparation and analysis (Excel). Strong preference for candidates with Visual manufacturing software expertise.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
