Job Description

Shift from 4:30am-1:00pm.

Purpose To provide quality baked goods to guests in Snowbird restaurants. Responsible for coordinating individual station and communicating with the Pastry Chef to provide a culinary experience that exceeds guest expectations.
Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1. Reports to work on time in the proper uniform. Obeys all company rules and regulations. Measurement Criteria: Performance evaluation.
2. Obtains assigned station from Pastry Chef at the beginning of the shift. Prepares mis en place for his/her station and is ready to assist others if needed. Completes daily duties before and after the shift. Measurement Criteria: Keeps station neat and clean throughout service. Prepares orders according to recipes.
3. Ensures standards of appearance and sanitation are maintained on a daily basis. Maintains good safety practices of employees throughout the kitchen. Measurement Criteria: Safety and Health inspections.
4. Participates in on-going employee training. Measurement Criteria: Attendance in training.
5. Takes fast and appropriate action to solve problems. Handles guest concerns in a professional manner. Measurement Criteria: Guest satisfaction.
6. Maintains line of communication with Pastry Chef. Measurement Criteria: Performance Evaluation.

- generally none, although may serve as a lead baker, training and coaching newer bakers
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience Requirements
oHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
o1-2 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.
Specific Requirements:
oMust be at least 18 years of age.
oFood Handler Permit

- must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, listening and oral communication skills, also conflict management and dispute resolution skills
Technical Competencies:
- must demonstrate competency in reading, writing and arithmetic
- must demonstrate ability to learn and develop recipes
- must demonstrate proficiency in handling all kitchen equipment
- must demonstrate proficiency in basic kitchen techniques
- must demonstrate ability to multi-task, i.e., prep food while monitoring baking times while accepting direction from the Pastry Chef

- requires problem solving and initiation of activities within job description and responsibility limitations
- requires understanding of other Snowbird operations

- varies, may be early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on the operation's hours
