Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Basic Mill and Lathe work.
CNC Milling
Basic understanding of CAM, (Computer Aided Manufacturing).
Familiar with Solid Works.
AS / AA degree or sufficient on-the-job experience and high school diploma / GED
Journeymans License preferred
Three years of sufficient on-the-job experience
Interpret drawings and specifications
Effective written and oral communications skills (English), math skills, and interpersonal skills
Basic computer skills
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Proficient in general machining operations and applications
Responsibilities:
Evaluate W/Os (work orders) for accuracy, tooling, material availability and processing requirements. Ensure emergency W/O receive top priority.
Manage personal time and resources tonsure W/O are completed on schedule.
Ensure that tools and materials are available for upcoming W/Os and collaborate with the Machine Shop Coordinator to assure material/tooling availability.
Complete team assignments to support work load requirements.
Ensure all equipment and area are properly cleaned and maintained per PM and 5S guidelines.
Manufacture standard and non-standard mechanical components to close tolerances.
Work closely with the engineers to design and develop parts and prototypes.
Develop dies, jigs, and fixtures required to manufacture parts.
Read, interpret, and understand all types of blueprints and machine drawings (standard and metric).
Capable of using various precision measurement devices and techniques.
Understand and be able to navigate through Solid Works, AutoCAD drawings and provide suggestions for modifications to these drawings.
Work overtime as needed by the department. Work flexible hours as business needs require.
Actively participate in Continuous Improvement teams and activities, including 5S, blitzes, Shift Start-up, updating PVD boards, lean lite, KAS, etc.
Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations.
