Database Administrator

Telarus is seeking a DBA to architect, maintain, and monitor our Microsoft SQL Server environment.
Current infrastructure:
Production server running SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition.
Hot failover server running SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition with transaction replication.
Staging server running SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition.
Approximately 13GB of data on each server.
Responsibilities:
Consult with software development team to determine table structure.
Index tuning and query optimization.
SQL development and consultation.
Data extraction, transformation, and loading.
Creation of Views, Stored Procedures, and Triggers.
Maintenance and monitoring of transaction based replication.
Monitor usage trends and provide recommendations for scaling to meet demand.
Database backups and on-demand data restoration.
Monitoring of long running queries, locks, latch waits, IO bottlenecks, index fragmentation, and other metrics that could indicate performance issues using a tool such as RedGate or Ignite.
Automation and scheduling of administrative tasks.
Continue learning about new technologies and share recommendations.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
