Summary:
Performs high-volume sales transactions while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the point of sale (cash registers) system, and provides exceptional customer service to all GMD Saloon patrons, staff and guests.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and able to take directions from a diverse team of leaders and co-workers.
CONSIDERATIONS:
Will be required to work extended hours during peak times, weekends and holidays as necessary.
Position may work out of various Lodge outlets (e.
g.
, bussing in the dining room) and rotate through different shifts.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
Essential Functions:
Provides excellent customer service to all customers of the Saloon by greeting customers in a timely manner.
Performs sales transactions in MICROS system and ensures all orders and tickets are processed accurately (dispensing correct change, processing credit card payments, issuing receipts, all gift certificate and gift card functions, refunds and resolves amount discrepancies).
Correctly reconciles cash register at the end of each shift.
Answers general questions from patrons regarding the Saloon, Lodge, Ski Resort, etc.
as necessary acting as an ambassador for the Lodge.
Provides beverage preparation and food recommendations (with concentration on specialty cocktails) and service.
Stocks and maintains all supplies, food items and utensils in Saloon.
Maintain cleanliness of the Saloon at all times and complies with standard food handling and sanitation procedures.
Has a valid Utah food handler's permit within 30 days of employment.
Employee is responsible for buying the permit.
Maintains and complies with all Utah On-Premise Alcohol regulations.
Has a valid Alcohol Server Certificate for the state of Utah within 30 days of employment.
Employee is responsible for buying the permit.
Follows all Lodge safety and security policies and procedures.
Report all accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to manager immediately.
Participates in weekly deep cleaning of the Saloon, including restocking all items, cleaning machines, washing windows, etc.
Attends and participates in all meetings and trainings as required.
Reports to Saloon, ready to work in clean uniform at the scheduled time.
Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Employee has legal authorization to work in the United States.
Previous food and beverage experience preferred.
High school Diploma or GED required.
Previous experience working with a POS and cash handling required.
Must be 21 years old to serve alcohol.

Positive, outgoing personality along with excellent customer service skills required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
Able to use basic math and accurately reconcile a cash register required.

Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

well groomed & trimmed hair, clean uniform, no facial piercings.
Knowledge of the Town of Alta and Alta Ski Resort helpful.
Able to speak, read, write and communicate clearly in English required.
PERKS:
At least 3 of the 5 working days in a week there will be time available to ski, plus days off.
First year full-time employees who want to ski pay a two-hundred-dollar ski deposit.
Returning full-time employees don't pay a deposit.
If a full-time employee doesn't want to ski then they will receive a one thousand one hundred ninety six dollar payout at the successful completion of the season in lieu of the ski pass.

Are available for most seasonal full-time employees.
Employees are paired with others of the same sex.
(Space permitting, couples or friends may be paired together.
) Room and board is automatically deducted bi-weekly from paychecks at a daily rate of $20 per person.
This includes:
Three meals per day.
WiFi access.
A ski bus pass.
Access to fitness room, hot tub and sauna.
An Alta or Snowbird ski pass OR a one thousand one hundred ninety six dollar end-of-season payout, as described above.
Employees who don't live on site receive the following:
Two meals per day worked.
A ski bus pass.
Access to fitness room, hot tub and sauna.
An Alta or Snowbird ski pass OR a one thousand one hundred ninety six dollar end-of-season payout, as described above.
TRANSPORTATION:
The ski buses travel between the Salt Lake Metro Area and Alta from Mid-December until the second weekend in April.
Service is every half hour from seven am until six pm and there is a bus stop at Goldminer's Daughter Lodge.
