POSITION DETAILS Position Summary The Sr. Design Engineer-Products will be responsible for providing and supporting teamwork and coordination in engineering and product design projects to investigate, evaluate, and develop new applications for existing equipment and systems. Support and drive the new product development stage gate process. Drive and support the Company's competitive advantage using creative design and formulation of new product lines and enhancements. The incumbent will be able to apply analytical, evaluative, and constructive expertise to design engineering projects, seeing them to completion by assigned deadlines. Recommend improvements to existing product to maximize production and operating cost-effectiveness. Utilize a broad base of knowledge to rapidly and efficiently design, develop, test, maintain, and continuously improve products and reliability. Principal Activities Drive and support teamwork with manufacturing engineers, design engineers, supply chain, and planners to ensure proper handoff of designs to global manufacturing sites for customer orders. Work and coordinate between the Product Manager and Applications Engineer supporting sales and marketing functions and end customers, as related to application reviews. Design, develop, and update new product requirements, major modifications of existing products, customer prototype qualification, test requirements, and resolve product performance deficiencies. Respond to both customer and internal technical support needs in a timely manner. Lead product line development projects through CIRCOR Stage Gate development process as well as leading VA/VE efforts to support market needs and profitability goals. Ensure excellence in Engineering and limit product liability by driving best practice methods, processes, and tools and applying sound engineering practices. Ensure all product designs comply with the appropriate industry and customer standards, i.e. ASME, NACE, ISO, API, etc. Promote standardized product BOM, material selection, and uniformity in designs. Review and approve technical documentation including but not limited to change orders and requests, drawings, specifications, calculations, bills of material, test plans, and technical reports. Lead the generation of new ideas and document them appropriately for possible patent protection or to reserve as intellectual property. Report on progress of projects and identify critical issues that need to be addressed Analyze product life cycle to provide cost estimates of required local and off-shore labor resources and materials Prepare project schedules for accomplishing related tasks Provide direction and oversight to technicians, field operations, and maintenance activities in fabrication and installation of mechanical and electronic equipment and systems Provide technical guidance to personnel involved with producing design drawings Review and disposition manufacturing issues Develop, release, and maintain documentation in accordance with company and contractual requirements Review, write, and edit reports (i.e. evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, etc.) to provide recommendations, conclusions, and other data Verify completed work checking dimensions, material, and quantities Assist and direct building, installing, debugging and testing new equipment to ensure production capabilities Perform other duties, as assigned
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Mechanical Engineering, Design & UXEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
