Purpose:
Under the direction of the Rental Operations Manager, supervises the daily operations of Cliff Sports Rentals, a high volume ski rental shop.
Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1. Leads by example including carrying out, to a high level, job expectations related to: customer service, employee management, company values, fitting ski equipment, selling rental packages, dress & grooming, policies & procedures, attendance, teamwork, and productivity.
2. Coaches, corrects and recognizes 7-10 employees regarding all areas of their job expectations.
3. Ensures the store delivers the highest level of customer service and quality product/services. Promptly and effectively deals with any guest complaints according to established procedures.
4. Responsible for protecting company assets, including payments and inventory. Manage flow of skis in and out of shop, ensuring they are in good condition. Manages daily sales transactions in a manner that accurately accounts for payments and inventory.
5. Works regularly with Rental Operations Manager to conduct inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
6. Keeps Rental Operations Manager informed on all aspects of store operations. Disseminates information to employees in a timely manner.
7. Provides a safe environment for employees and guests by enforcing safety/ liability policies and procedures. Ensures all rental contracts are signed. Conducts timely accident reports, regular fleet binding tests, and frequent fleet inspection and maintenance.
8. Is required to be available if an employee is sick or unavailable. Will be expected to pick up additional shifts if business levels are high or if the store is understaffed.
9. Participates as part of a larger ski rental leadership team (Snowbird Sports, Creekside Sports, Cliff Sports Rental and Repair), assists other departments as needed, and attends rental supervisor meetings and events.
10. Performs other tasks as assigned by Management.

1. Direct and continuous contact with guests.
2. Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
3. Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.
Education & Experience Requirements
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. 1-2 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.
Specific Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Skills & Knowledge
Technical:
Experience in ski/snowboard rental, and basic repair services is essential. Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel required. Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, Siriusware (sales and inventory system, and other retail and rental management systems). Accounting skills sufficient to conduct audits and research transactional and inventory discrepancies.
Administrative:
Leadership, management, and teamwork skills required. An overall proactive and can-do attitude to performing all job expectations is essential.
Manages employees in a manner that fosters a happy work environment and meets company and department policies.
Establishes customer service goals and guidelines. Coaches and monitors employee adherence to service guidelines.
Ensures that any guest complaints are dealt with promptly and effectively.
Exercise judgment in accordance with company and divisional policies and procedures.
High degree of organization, attention to detail, and ability to work in a stress-related environment.
Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
1. Shifts vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels.
2. Regularly scheduled work shifts, requires being on-call and working weekends, holidays, and some evenings.
3. Specific Shift: Must be available to work any time during the operating hours of the Rental/Repair stores. 8am to 8pm seven days a week. Weekends and holidays are required.
Mental:
1. May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.
Physical:
1. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
2. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
3. Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
4. Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
5. Other/Additional: Advanced or expert skiing/boarding ability preferred.
